Carousell is one of those “must have” apps on your phone if you’re into selling or buying stuffs online. The best thing about this app is, it’s created locally, for locals. Which means, you’ll save a lot on shipping charges! Local postage is much more cheaper than international. Some of the sellers also offer meetups which is much better.
There are basically 20 categories. My favourites are, “For Him” and “Lifestyle Gadgets”. But be warned, when browsing, please make sure you have a charger as it’s quite addictive. Once, I was so into browsing that i did not realize my battery was almost empty. I think i spent hours scrolling. Don’t get me wrong though, this app does not drain your battery. In fact, any app that you use continuously for an hour or two, will drain battery.
I got the chance to chat with the owner via email. They are 3 former NUS students who got this idea after being frustrated with the tedious way to sell stuffs online via forums. Personally, i have to agree with them as i hate posting on forums. Registrations on forums is already a pain. You need to register and verify via email. Once done, you are not allowed to sell your items unless you have a minimum amount of post. The list goes on.
